Visual reality Visual reality is our experiencing of the world through sight, sound, and tangible objects. This is our most dominant sense because it allows us to assess the situation in front of us and react accordingly. Because this sense is relatively easy to create and manipulate, visual artists want to use it as a medium for their art. Visual artists range from painters like Jackson Pollock or Pablo Picasso being revered for their work with paint and canvas; sculptors like Pablo Bronstein making an impact on public spaces around the world through giant constructs; or film-makers like Alfred Hitchcock, who used cutting-edge effects such as stop-motion sequences to frighten audiences during his films.
